Recently realistic digital painting inspires me more than any other kind of art. I hope I do make a progress. And I hope the girl's fan looks like a fan.
Made with Photoshop and Wacom Tablet.
I used brushes made by other people, but can't say whose they are. All credits for them go to their creators.
I also used a photo of one of the Takarazuka actresses as a reference for the posture. It was found somewhere online long time ago and saved in my computer.
Nice.Interesting how the fan turned out.. I'll admit it looked a little bit like a swiffer duster at first.. but I'd have to see the original fan to see a comparison. Think you'd ever be able to draw a live subject?
Looks like a duster to me as well, actually. On the source photo it's a white puffy feathered fan. Do you mean, not taking photos as a reference? I used to draw a lot of those at University.
Yeah.. I'm thinking of something like life drawing. You could try drawing a friend, family member,SO,co worker or whomever would be willing to have a portrait done. There's always life drawing classes you could take if you want to study the human form more closely. But it's all up to you if you want to pursue all that..
It takes time, and only a professional model can stand for hours in the same posture. The only person available to me right now is too hyperactive for that. As for studying, I think 4 years of classes, 8 hours every week is enough for understanding the theory. Practice is what I need, but I'm often too lazy to spend my free time drawing. Oh, and I don't have my equipment now. Buying new things before getting a permanent job is not a wise decision.
Ah cool. Yes, I met her via MariMite fandom on LJ. She does awesome yuri work. I don't frequent LJ anymore, but once in a blue moon I drop by to see how my friends are doing.
